Remote Work - a technical challenge for many entrepreneurs
The pandemic is the number one topic in all media, is steering countless companies, administrations and authorities directly into the home office. States, including Switzerland, are creating binding rules for companies to implement home offices wherever this is operationally possible. Fortunately, our digital age offers all the necessary IT, communication and chat technologies to install home offices without any problems. Companies and public authorities have recognised this for a long time and, in addition to the IT requirements, are now also creating the organisational guidelines to successfully set up the home office option. This means being able to work autonomously, rationally and efficiently over any distance, from home or from any location, with any suitable device, around the clock, while maintaining a permanent digital connection to the company.
The home office, as a thoroughly promising alternative, is even prompting many companies to implement the home office variant as a permanent solution, provided that a suitable and, above all, secure IT infrastructure is available. Thus, large parts of the economy are already participating in the so-called "digital revolution" with the goal of reducing the time-consuming and cost-intensive stationary central work units to an organizationally justifiable minimum, making full use of today's digital possibilities. New strategies, framework conditions, communication rules and future-oriented forms of work and organization are created to complement digital IT technologies. Typical tasks that can be performed from any location, such as standard customer service tasks, correspondence processing, programming, the creation of presentations and concepts, as well as numerous other tasks, are ideally suited for the home office. In order to ensure the holistic and flexible management or remote control of virtual teams or home offices over any distance, a functioning "remote leadership" is required. The focus here is on the strict pursuit of corporate principles, visions and goals, across all instances of task assignment.
